If you read my 30 Day Challenge: Wake Up Earlier post, you know that I’m focusing waking up earlier throughout the month of August. I’m sharing my 30 Day Challenge Wake Up Earlier Week 1 progress.
Wake Up Earlier Week 1 Progress
It’s been one week since I started this challenge so I wanted to give you all an update on my progress so far. Here’s my 30 Day Challenge Wake Up Earlier Week 1 progress:
What’s the goal?
This month I want to focus on waking up and starting my days earlier.
What’s the plan?
I usually get out of bed to get ready for work around 8:30 or 8:45 a.m. So, the first week I wanted to work on getting up 30 minutes earlier, even if that just means sitting up in my bed but making sure I’m awake.
What/how did I do?
One of the first things I did to keep me motivated throughout this challenge was making sure I could visualize what my end goal will look like. I use Google Calendar regularly so I went into my calendar and blocked off time on my schedule to align with what I envision my daily routine will hopefully look like by the end of this challenge. For instance, this is a little sneak peek of what my mornings will hopefully look like at the end of the 30 days:
6:30 a.m. Wake up
6:45 a.m. Morning workout
7:00 a.m. Get ready
9:30 a.m. Leave for shuttle
So…right now my morning looks nothing like this. But I’m hoping it will look closer to this as the month progresses.
My goal this week was to get up around 8:00 or 8:15 a.m., even if it meant just laying in the bed scrolling through Instagram. I was successful at getting up earlier than I have been, so rolling out of bed by 8:20 or 8:30 a.m. at the latest. However, I didn’t always wake up as early as I was hoping. My problem was that even though I was trying to wake up earlier, I was still staying up really late at night. This made it very difficult to wake up in the morning. I know for this upcoming week, I’m going to have to stick to going to bed earlier if I want to achieve my goal.
I’ve been using my Coach.me app to help track my progress. I’ve signed up for the “Wake Up Early For 30 Days” challenge posted by Jeff Finley. I really like the app because it gives you daily suggestions to help you stay committed to my goal.
My goal this upcoming week is to wake up an hour earlier, so around 7:30 or 7:45 a.m.
