I did it!
I finished my 30 Day Challenge to wake up earlier.

What was the goal?
This past month I wanted to focus on waking up and starting my days earlier.
What was the plan?
I usually get out of bed to get ready for work around 8:30 or 8:45 a.m. By the end of the challenge, my goal was to wake up around 6:30 a.m. and make moves for the day by 7 a.m.
What/how did I do?
For my 3rd week of this challenge, I was on a work trip that required me to wake up VERY early every morning. I had to be ready by 7:30 am most mornings. This meant I was waking up around 6:30/7:00 am for the week. I was on the East Coast so I was pretty much waking up at 3:30/4:00 am. I can say I was definitely successful at achieving and exceeding my goal of waking up earlier for week 3.
But, it was definitely a STRUGGLE. I was waking up way earlier than I was used to and I was also staying up really late. So…I pretty much got no sleep for week 3 of this challenge.
This had an impact on my sleeping habits for the last week of the challenge. Although my body has become used to waking up earlier on its own (Success!), it was a lot harder to actually get out of bed in the morning.
How was it measured?
I started this challenge by using my Coach.me app to help track my progress. Unfortunately, I didn’t do the best at updating the app with my progress. However, I want to keep this challenge going in order to turn it into an everyday habit. I hope to get back to using the app regularly.
What was the outcome?
One outcome of this challenge is that I’m now starting my days earlier. I also don’t dread early mornings…as much.
I haven’t been able to start my mornings at 6:30 am, as I initially hoped. But, I’m starting my mornings an hour earlier than I was before so I’ll say that’s a success. Having that extra hour means I’m not rushing and stressed out as much in the mornings.
I want to continue developing this into a habit so that I’ll be able to take more advantage of my day and get more stuff accomplished. I’m still working on adding some more structure to my life by creating a morning and night routine to accommodate this new schedule.
