Suede is a fashion trend dominating style guides and catwalks over the past year. I’m sharing how I styled and where I rocked this look.
Rocking That Suede
When I think of suede, I instantly think of style from the 70’s. Bell bottoms, afros, sequins…all of those looks come to mind. I wanted to find a way to rock the style, without looking like I was in costume for Halloween.
So, I thought the best way to style this trend was to keep the look very simple. I received a brown faux suede dress from my latest Le Tote subscription box. Le Tote is a great way to receive unlimited boxes of women’s apparel and accessories every month!
For this look, I paired black hoop earrings and thigh high black boots. I love how the look really makes the dress the focal point.
Since the material can really stand on its own, I kept the rest of the look very simple.
I Need New Friends
I decided to wear this outfit to a networking brunch I was attending. This past weekend I was able to attend the “I Need New Friends” (INNF) networking brunch hosted by Real Brown Girls and Life According to Her.
INNF hosts the brunches in both the Bay Area and New York. INNF is a networking brunch focused on connecting women together to help them meet other women and helping them develop quality relationships with “new friends”.
The Bay Area brunch was hosted at Paradiso Restaurant in San Leandro. The tables were set up with assigned seating to allow all attendees to meet someone new. We were told that we were sitting next to people who had something in common with us, which prompted us to dig deep into the conversation to learn what we all had in common.
The brunch was hosted by Ahyiana Angel, author and creator of Life According to Her. Ahyiana is a Contemporary Brand Stylist who focuses on helping entrepreneurs and small businesses develop their digital presence.
After an introduction from Ahyiana and an overview of how the event came to fruition, we had the chance to converse with the women seated around us and begin to establish connections and relationships over brunch.
The French Omelet, with mushrooms and Gruyere cheese was delicious. And…what’s brunch without bottomless mimosas?!
Overall, I really enjoyed the networking brunch and think it was such a rewarding experience. I was able to make some great connections that I’m hoping can develop into quality relationships.
We also took a group shot at the end of the event (photo is re-posted from @innfusa on Instagram). I definitely encourage others to connect with INNF and keep a look out for upcoming events near your area!
Have you tried styling the suede trend? How would you rock this style? Who else is a huge fan of brunch? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
