I love a good smoky eye! Especially a green smoky eye.

Ever since I finally learned how to master it, it’s my go-to eye makeup look.

I’m sharing how to get a green smoky eye look, thanks to Akira from makeupartistrybyakira.com.

Why Do I Love Smoky Eyes?

One of my favorite things about a smoky eye is that it’s versatile.

I love that you can keep it simple for a soft and glamorous daytime look.

Or you can go dramatic for a sexy and sultry look for a night out.

I wasn’t always able to successfully put together a smoky eye myself. It definitely took a lot of practice and hours of watching YouTube tutorials.

Luckily for me, I also had the help of my talented younger sister, who happens to be a makeup artist.

And great news!

She’s sharing a tutorial on how to achieve a green smoky eye look.

Green Smoky Eye Makeup Tutorial

The first step is to prime your eyelids, here I used MAC “Soft Ochre” Paint Pot from lashline to brows.

Second, I put a warm brown color into the crease and on the lower lash-line as my transition color. I used MAC “Give Me Sun” Bronzer.

Next, I used an emerald green creamy pencil liner all over my upper lid and lower lashline. Tarte’s Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Waterproof Liner in “Emerald” is great for this (TIP: When you apply it, stop just short of your crease, it’ll go higher when you blend it out. This is especially important if you have hooded lids.)

The eyeshadow palette I used is the Smashbox “On The Rocks” palette, which was limited edition, but you can swap these out and use any palette you have. The first eyeshadow I used is a dark, blackened green named “Gypsy”. I put this all over the lid and just ever so slightly into the crease, and blended it out with a clean brush. I also put it the over the green on the lower lashline.

Then I used a medium brown color to further blend that green color out, and into the crease. I used “Sable” from the palette.

Next, I used Urban Decay’s 24/7 Slide On Glide On Eye Pencil in “Perversion” at the lash line. Don’t worry about making it too neat, because we’re going to blend it out.

I used a smoky, dark shadow from the “On the Rocks” palette named (quite appropriately) “Smoke” to blend out the black shadow and smoke up the lash line (upper and lower).

After that, I used tons of my favorite mascaras, Covergirl’s “Clump Crusher” and Rimmel London’s “Lash Accelerator” on my upper and lower lashes.

Next (this step is optional), comes lashes, DUH! My two faves at the moment are House of Lashes “Siren” and “Iconic” (Warning; These lashes are not for the faint-hearted or for first-time lash wearers!!)

The last step is to put on your favorite nude lip, right now mine is MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in “Rare Breed”, lined with Colourpop’s “Skimpy” Lippie Pencil.
