Last week, I started a new series on my blog where I’ll be sharing reviews and swatches of different lipsticks. This week, I’m back with another edition of Lipstick Fridays and I’m featuring the Infallible Lip Paints from L’Oreal.
I have been a huge fan of the L’Oreal Infallible line of products for a while. The first product I fell in love with (and is still my go-to drugstore foundation) is the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. I’ve also tried their setting spray and gloss from the collection of products. When I saw this latest product in my local drugstore, I was really interested in giving it a try.
Infallible Lip Paints in Taupeless
The L’Oreal Infallible Lip Paints provide long-lasting, highly pigmented color in a shiny, gloss finish. The collection currently consists of 14 shades and is available at various drugstores.
I got the shade Taupeless, which is a nice taupe (or grayish brown) color. The packaging is so cute and comes in a tube similar to a toothpaste tube, but with a screw off top. I also like the packaging of each lipstick is the same shade as the actual lip color.
Application and Finish
The applicator is a flocked doe foot applicator. Last week, I mentioned that I had issues with the flocked doe foot applicator from the Dose of Colors liquid lipstick. However, I didn’t have much issue applying this product. I think it’s because this applicator was skinnier, so it was easier to get a precise application.
The product reminds me of applying a lip gloss, but the formula is thicker and creamier. The formula is very pigmented, with just one swipe. It has a nice gloss finish, but it’s not sticky like some lip glosses.
When I initially applied the product, I felt the color was a little too light for my skin complexion, so I lined my lips with a darker brown lip liner after applying the Lip Paint. I then blended the two together by rubbing my lips together.
As far as wear time, the product had long-lasting wear. Here’s a photo of me after initially applying the product.
After 8 hours, the color was still somewhat apparent although the lipstick lost most of its shine and glossiness.
Overall, I really liked this product. I’m usually more of a matte lipstick person but since this is a non-sticky gloss formula I really like it. I also love that this line comes in a variety of bold colors so I might have to check out some of the other shades.
Do you prefer matte lipsticks or glossy lipsticks? Would you rock this color? Are there other lipsticks you’d like me to try?
