On this week’s edition of Lipstick Fridays, I’ll be reviewing two lipstick colors from the MAC Liptensity collection.
MAC Cosmetics was one of the first makeup brands I really used. It was also the brand that started my love for makeup.
My mother has always used MAC. So whenever she would do my makeup for special events, that was the brand she used on me. I even remember her taking me to the MAC Cosmetics makeup counter to get my makeup done for all of the special events at school. We would get up early before school dances to head to my makeup appointment at MAC.
Naturally, it became one of the first brands I started to buy makeup from. So MAC always has a special place in my heart.
MAC Liptensity Lipsticks
The Liptensity collection is a gel-based formula packed with extreme pigmentation and color intensity with a satin finish.
The lipsticks retail for $21.00 and are available online and in MAC stores.
I have the shades Double Fudge (an intense dark brown) as well as Toast and Butter (a peachy cinnamon.)
I was very used to the iconic black tube I typically see from MAC, so this packaging was a nice surprise. I really like that the top of the lipstick tube is the same color of the lipstick shade.
Application and Finish
This lipstick came in the traditional lipstick tube, so no issues with application. The lipstick is super creamy and applies so smooth. It is also super pigmented, even with just one application. The lipstick applies with a satin finish, which means it has a bit of a sheen to it. It is not transfer-proof but with the formula, it’s very long-lasting.
As I mentioned, the product is pretty long lasting. Although, I realized that the darker shade (Double Fudge) held up much better than the lighter shade (Toast and Butter). However, most of the color for both shades was almost gone.
Here’s a photo of my initial application of Double Fudge.
Here are photos after 11 hours of wear. This includes eating, drinking, and even going to the gym.
Here are photos of my initial application of Toast and Butter.
Here are photos after 9 hours of wear.
With wear, both colors lost most of their shine.
Overall, I really like this product. It is really creamy and comfortable to wear. However, I prefer the shade Double Fudge over Toast and Butter. Mostly because of the longer wear time.
What are your tips for long-lasting lipstick? Are you a fan of MAC lipsticks? What lipstick products do you think I should try next?
