I love trying out new products and discovering new favorites, especially beauty and hair products!

That might be why I’m so addicted to excited about subscription boxes, since they introduce me to lots of new products.

I also love to share product recommendations with others so I wanted to share some of the products I tried and loved last month and share what I liked about them.

Milani Color Statement Lipstick, Rose Femme

I am a BIG fan of Milani Cosmetics products. They are affordable (you can find them at the drugstore) and really good quality. Their lipsticks smell like watermelon (I’m always hungry so of course the scent reminds me of food), glide on smoothly, and are pretty long-wearing. I discovered this color, Rose Femme, last month and fell in love. I’ve always been a little nervous to try out nude lipsticks but this has opened my eyes and is now my go-to lipstick when I want a nude lip. The color is a mauvey-pink and I think it would look great on many different skin tones. The trick for me is to first line and fill my lips in with a brown lip liner and then layer the lipstick on top. You can see photos here and here of how the color looks on me.

ModelCo Blush Lights Cheek Powder, 02 Peach Bellini

I feel like February was all about getting out of my comfort zone as far as beauty products are concerned because I decided to take another risk by trying out a peach blush. I get nervous trying out new blush shades because I want to make sure I’m wearing a suitable color for my skin tone and not walking around looking like a clown. But this blush from ModelCo in the color Peach Bellini worked great on my skin tone. I discovered this product through my February ipsy Glam Bag (learn more about ipsy in my previous blog post). This product is very pigmented, so go easy when applying, but it blends out smoothly which makes application for makeup novices like me much easier.

Lottabody Coconut & Shea Oils Moisturize Me Curl & Style Milk

I received this product from my February curlBOX (learn more about curlBOX in my previous blog post) and was really excited to try it out because I’ve heard great things about this Lottabody. I was very pleased with everything this product did for my hair. It left my dry hair moisturized, soft, and full of shine. Bonus points for the great smell, I’m a sucker for hair products that smell amazing.

Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly

Another product I received in my February curlBOX and fell in love with is this jelly from Curls. This is another product I’ve heard rave reviews about so I was very excited to try…and it smells just like blueberries so I was already sold as soon as I got a whiff of the scent. This product in combination with the Lottabody style milk are now my “holy grail” product combination because using these two together gave me the best hair results I’ve ever had. Both products are lightweight so my hair was bouncy and light and didn’t feel weighed down at all. The style milk provided moisture and shine and the jelly was able to provide long-lasting hold. I used these products to style a perm rod set and Bantu knot out and was beyond pleased with the results.

In addition to product favorites, I also had some music favorites. I have a deep love for music. I just feel like it always does an amazing job of expressing exactly how I feel and getting me through any situation, no matter what I’m feeling. I also have a really eclectic taste when it comes to music and I enjoy discovering new songs and artists. I have a new favorite song pretty much every week and can be found randomly belting out song lyrics throughout the day (No shame either, I know I’m not the only one who does it). I wanted to share a few of the songs I had on repeat in February.

Apparently by J. Cole – I’m a big fan of J. Cole and I really like singing this song from his latest album in particular.

Day 2 Day Remix by Tunji Ige – The boyfriend put me on to this song and I love just bouncing around and singing the chorus.

Post To Be by Omarion – I feel like this song was everywhere but it didn’t stop me from loving it! This song was stuck in my head non-stop (it’s so darn catchy).

So High by Doja Cat – I was introduced to this song by one of the videos Michelle Phan posted on her YouTube channel. I really love songs with a chill, sexy sound and that’s the vibe I get from this beat.

What are some of the things you loved in February? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? What did you think of them?

Thanks for reading!
