February flew by but I’m definitely ready for the warmer weather and spring to arrive…
(although I live in California so I can’t really complain too much about the weather).
I wanted to start a new series on my blog after being inspired by Drea of The Drea Daily (see her goals for February here). Every month she posts her goals that she hopes to achieve as well as provides a recap of her progress on the goals she set for the previous month. I love this idea of posting the goals on my blog as a way to track my progress and also hold myself accountable.
1. I have been working on losing weight, eating healthier, and working out regularly. I really want to maintain a healthier lifestyle. I have been pretty thin my whole life but once I got to college I started to gain more weight and wasn’t as active as I was in high school so the pounds just packed on. I wouldn’t say I’m overweight and I still think I’m still relatively on the thinner side (with some curves here and there), but I am still bigger than I would like to be and I can definitely notice the weight gain in pictures. I want to get more serious about losing weight and toning my body so this month I’m going to take part in a 30 Day Flat Abs Challenge and will be tracking my progress, including my weight, body fat percentage, water intake, and calorie intake. My goal is to stay consistent with this plan and provide updates on the blog. I’ll be posting my proposed workout plan tomorrow for anyone who wants to join in with me and share their progress as well.
2. So…embarrassing confession. I am in my twenties and I still don’t have my driver’s license (anyone else out there a late bloomer to driving?). I never really needed to learn how to drive, even though it would definitely make my life easier. In high school I lived across the street from the school and only ever went home and to school so I didn’t need a car. In college, my friends had cars so I always had a ride. For my first job post-college we were reimbursed for using public transportation so that was a great option for me. And now, my current job has shuttles. However, I realize the need to have a license and my own car so that I don’t have to rely on anyone else (I am a very independent person). My goal this month is to pay for and schedule driving classes to get me one step closer to my license and first car.
3. Ever since I got into the real world and had to manage both a personal and work e-mail account my personal e-mails have fallen off my radar. I really want to get on top of managing my personal e-mail account so my goal is to tackle 50 e-mails a day, with the goal of getting closer to getting my inbox to zero.
4. As a new blogger I’ve been reading a lot of resources about how important it is to build your network and I’d like to focus more on that this month. My goal is to build relationships and my network by leaving one meaningful comment or promoting a blog post for a fellow blogger every day this month.
