Day two of celebrating the new year in Los Angeles included tailgating, mimosas, and the Rose Bowl. What a great start to 2016!
Celebrating the New Year in Los Angeles
If you read my previous post, you know that I went on a spur of the moment trip to Los Angeles with the boyfriend to celebrate the new year. We celebrated New Year’s Eve at Disneyland and had an amazing time!
To celebrate the first day of the new year, we were able to get tickets to watch Stanford (my alma mater) play Iowa in the Rose Bowl football game!
We started the day tailgating with a group of our college friends before the game. Since the game started at 2:00 pm, we started our tailgate early, which was brunch-themed.
Mimosas, brunch, and football?! That’s my kind of tailgate!
It was also great because I was able to see a lot of my college friends, so it was almost like a mini reunion.
The tailgate was full of good food, good drinks (I was a huge fan of the mimosas and tequila), music, and socializing. I was able to capture some great moments on Snapchat as well (who else loves Snapchat??).
Rose Bowl Game
Stanford took on Iowa at the 103rd Rose Bowl Game.
We came. We saw. We dominated!
Stanford ended up winning the game with a final score of 45-16. Go Stanford!
To celebrate the win, we went to a social event hosted for alums and then went out on the town that night for a party in Hollywood.
Game Day Outfit
I wanted to show school spirit, but also look really cute for the game, which was the inspiration behind my game day outfit. Luckily, it wasn’t too cold in Los Angeles, so I didn’t have to wear too many layers.
