New Yooooork, concrete jungle where dreams are made of…Last month I had the pleasure of exploring New York City and I had a great time! I wanted to share a recap of my New York trip with you all.
The boyfriend and I started our journey to the East Coast with a wedding in New Jersey. We actually had two weddings we were scheduled to attend on the East Coast. Since they took place during back to back weekends, we decided to just stay on the East Coast for the week.
We had only visited New York once before about a year ago, so I was excited to go back and explore!
New York Trip: Day One
We spent our first day working from the office in New York before checking into our Airbnb.
If you haven’t heard of Airbnb before, it’s an online marketplace that allows you to book accommodations around the world. “Hosts” rent out their apartments/houses/rooms and you’re able to book their space for your upcoming vacations or travel. It’s a great alternative to booking hotels and I always check out the listings when traveling.
We found a really cute one-bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village.
The place was so cute and perfect for our needs. It was also super close to the office we were working out of.
On our way back to the office, we were able to get a little sightseeing in. We made sure to take some photos along the way as we briefly explored Greenwich Village.
I even had time to get a quick mini photoshoot in!
That night, we were able to attend a music event hosted by YouTube that featured up and coming musical acts, including BJ the Chicago Kid and Chloe x Halle (you might recognize them Beyonce’s visual album, Lemonade). It was such a fun event!
I was pretty hungry after the event, so we checked out a nearby eatery, Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen.
I loved the vibe of the place. Very chill atmosphere that was dimly lit, which provided a very intimate setting.
I was clearly eating with my eyes because I ordered way more food than I could handle. I got the beef sliders, truffle fries, and macaroni and cheese. Everything was so tasty and filling!
New York Trip: Day Two
The next day, we headed back to the office to work. Of course, we tried to squeeze in some more sightseeing in. So when we found out there was a rooftop view from the office, we definitely had to check it out!
Aren’t these views amazing?!
I was so amazed by the spectacular view. The whole city was in sight. That alone made the trip worthwhile.
That final night, I met up with friends in Times Square where we watched a movie and then I went out to explore the nightlife scene.
Although this was a much more lowkey trip, I really enjoyed being able to take in all of the sights of the city. I’m looking forward to my next trip to New York.
